First thing is first; I DON’T CONDONE PIRACY! PERIOD! IF YOU USE THIS TUTORIAL/SOFTWARE YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM NOT PUTTING A KNIFE TO YOUR THROAT OR A GUN TO YOUR HEAD. DO NOT PIRATE! THE ONLY REASON TO USE THIS SOFTWARE IS TO BACKUP YOUR OWN GAMES SO THAT YOU CAN PUT AWAY THE DISC OR TO MAKE YOUR CURRENT GAMES LOAD FASTER.

This does not work if you’re on FW 3.56+

Things you’ll need:

Emulators for the PS3

SNES Emulator

First, You must have a Custom Firmware installed. If you don’t read the tutorial on how to get it setup.

Download: Snes9x-ps3-v4.4.9 (63)

Put that Pkg file on the ROOT of your USB Stick.
Also, put any ROMs you want to play on either your Internal PS3 Hard Drive (with the FTP program) or on your USB Stick. There are some ROMs in the Download Section.
Plug the USB stick to your PS3 and navigate to “Install Package Files”.
Click and choose the SNES pkg.
Once installed, open the Emulator and it will show you a File Explorer screen.
Navigate to your ROMs and pick the one you want to play.

Optionally you can download the Multiman Emulator Pack instead – MultiMAN EMULATOR PACK (SNES GENP VBA FBA FCEU) (20110611) (81)

Install Custom PS3 Firmware

Written by DarkLOME on . Posted in Playstation 3

***I DO NOT CONDONE PIRACY***

Real Simple. First, make sure you have the official firmware version 3.55 Installed.

Do NOT do this if you’re on 3.56+ Firmware!!!!

You will need a USB Stick formatted to FAT32.

  1. Make a Folder named PS3 on the USB stick
  2. Inside the PS3 Folder, make one called UPDATE
  3. Download the following: kmeaw’s 3.55 CFW Patched PUP
  4. Extract it and place the *.PUP file into the UPDATE folder on the USB stick.
  5. Plug the USB stick into your PS3
  6. Do a system Update from the Stick, not the internet.
  7. Hit YES on everything. The PS3 will beep a few times and turn off.
  8. Turn it back on. If all went well, you’ll see a new item under the Games section called “Install Package Files”.
  9. Done.
